Artistic and family program

La Femme Fleur

11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Presented by Animation Richard Lacroix

Where is she from, La Femme Fleur (the flower woman)? No one quite knows. Exuding charm and grace, friendly and funny, she strolls among the visitors, chatting about this and that, and especially about the beauty of different cultures.

Enjoy a fun and relaxing time discovering books that celebrate gardening and urban agriculture! The storytellers from Pouce Carré will be there to read some fun children’s tales and present fascinating documentaries that will spark a deeper connection with the environment.

Bonsai workshop
for kids (ages 6 to 12)/h3>

Presented by Société de bonsaï et de penjing de Montréal

Young bonsai enthusiasts will get the chance to prune and repot a miniature tree—with help from Mamie Bonsaï (Linda Chicoine, horticulturist and bonsai expert).

Laurie Pagé, president of the organization Entre l’assiette et nous, welcomes you under the tent for a talk on the rich history of Québec’s aromatic plants. Hear the stories of some often-forgotten plants and enjoy a few tasty samples.

Harvesting without watering

1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Presented by Guillaume Pelland, Paysage Gourmand

With a focus on permaculture, sustainability and low-maintenance gardening, this talk suggests some practical alternatives to traditional lawns. Find out how to water less, fertilize less, weed less, intervene less—and harvest more! Guillaume showcases a wide range of ornamental edible plants he describes as “xerotolerant.”
