For all

Come take a closer look at the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter! Learn more about the night sky! The Planétarium’s team will help you use our telescopes and answer any astronomy questions you might have.

Free on-site skywatching activities include

  • The opportunity to contemplate the constellations of Orion and Leo, which can be seen with the naked eye, and observe the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter through a telescope.
  • A special event in the museum lobby, with four presentations on observational tools as well as helpful tips from the Planétarium’s guides.
  • A presentation by Bibliothèques Montréal.

Useful information

All activities are free, except our regular film screenings between 7:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

As of 8:45 p.m., there will be a free presentation of the film Messengers of Time and Space which showcases the most prestigious telescopes from around the world and the incredible images of the Universe they have made possible.

In case of bad weather, indoor activities will carry on as planned and our guides will offer tours of the meteorite exhibition.

Telescope viewing is offered by the Planétarium’s team of guides as well as volunteers from the Société d’astronomie du Planétarium de Montréal (SAPM) and the Fédération des astronomes amateurs du Québec.

Skywatch Gatherings are recurring skywatching events organized by the Planétarium de Montréal. These events are a great opportunity to learn more about astronomy in a fun atmosphere.
