Discover Quebec’s Butterflies

The butterflies at the Insectarium come from all around the world, but did you know that Quebec is home to nearly 2,600 species of its own? Colorful, diverse, and fascinating, these insects stand out for both their appearance and their remarkable behaviors.

In this activity, meet three iconic species: the Monarch, the Cecropia Moth, and the Hummingbird Clearwing Moth. Through observation and exploration, discover what makes them unique, the amazing adaptations they have developed, and the essential role they play in biodiversity.

A captivating experience that will help you discover and appreciate the butterflies and moths living right here in Quebec.
