A time for reflection

On August 5, at exactly 7:15 p.m. local time, corresponding to the moment when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, the Peace Bell will sound in our Japanese Garden as a reminder of this sad event. The Peace Ceremony will take place simultaneously with a ceremony in Hiroshima itself.

The next day, August 6, the bell will toll 80 times throughout the day to commemorate the tens of thousands of lives wiped out in the tragedy. This is a rare opportunity to hear the sounding of this bell, and a reminder of the passing of years and the need to come together to work for peace around the world.
