Ongoing Presentation
Through stunning images of nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters, discover the hidden beauty of Montreal’s night sky, often obscured by urban light pollution. These captivating astrophotography images of deep-sky objects are presented free of charge on three large screens in the Planetarium Bistro.
Using advanced astrophotography techniques, the Planetarium team has captured the beauty of the cosmos and brought the stars back into view. Specialized cameras and long-exposure imaging reveal the faint light emitted by distant celestial objects, making the invisible visible.
By showcasing celestial wonders that are often washed out by artificial lighting, this exhibition highlights the impact of light pollution on biodiversity and ecosystems. It also raises awareness of the importance of preserving natural darkness and protecting the night sky for future generations.
Together, let’s bring back the stars!
