This family-friendly activity encourages you to pay attention to the very different environments in which these plants thrive: warm regions, highly varying climates and areas where the seasons depend largely on rainfall. As you move through the year, you’ll learn when different fruits and vegetables grow and see that some plants thrive in the heat, while others can withstand the cold. This activity highlights food seasonality, the importance of eating local and the fact that not all harvests are available at the same time.
