 artners for neurons in the healthy brain and contribute to the physiology 
 and homeostasis of neural circuits. This seminar will focus on the complex
 ity and heterogeneity of astrocyte populations in the central nervous syst
 em and how they contribute to proper brain function. The future potential
  for manipulating astrocytes in the context of brain diseases will also b
 e discussed.
