SUMMARY:Molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal protection and repair foll
 owing CNS injury
DESCRIPTION:Conférence scientifique | Centre de recherche du CHU Sainte-Ju
 stine
\nRésumé:Axonal damage can occur in
the adult mammalian CNS through a variety of mechanisms including acute t
rauma\, neuroinflammatory insults or neurodegenerative diseases. A key the
rapeutic approach is to devise molecular strategies to promote neuroprotec
tion and axon regeneration. This presentation will discuss the identificati
on and development of a family of small molecules that drive an intrinsic
growth program in injured adult neurons following acute nerve trauma and o
f miRNAs that mediate neuroprotection in response to neuroinflammation.
