SUMMARY:Conférence de chimie avec le professeur James Donaldson_University
  of Toronto
DESCRIPTION:Conférence de chimie avec le professeur James Donaldson_Univ
 ersity of Toronto
\n
\nTitre: '' Shining a light on atmospheric surf
aces: heterogeneous photochemistry at water\, ice and grime surfaces ''
\n

\nEndroit : Pavillon Roger-Gaudry\, salle S-142
\n
\nHeure : 11:00
  AM
\n
\nHôte : Professeur Patrick Hayes
\n
\nRésumé : Traditional
ly\, atmospheric chemistry has concentrated on reactions taking place in t
he gas phase\, or within liquid droplets suspended in the atmosphere. How
ever\, the boundaries between the gas phase and liquids or solids in conta
ct with the atmosphere possess very different (and chemically rich) enviro
nments from the surrounding bulk phases. I will present some recent work f
rom my research group that has concentrated on characterizing such interfa
ces and studying the photochemical processes that occur there.
\n
\n
