The spatial 
 perspective of crimes has been increasing in criminology literature in the
  past decade. However\, most of the studies are from Western countries.

 is presentation draws on several spatial analysis to investigate the dynam
 ics of crime in Brazil. Findings indicate that situational (spatial/tempor
 al) context not only matters but that they are crucial for crime preventio
 n.
