SUMMARY:Géopolitique de l'Indo-Pacifique
DESCRIPTION:The 21st Century is poised to be the Indo-Pacific Century. Many
of the world's major and emerging political and economic powers have Indi
an Ocean and/or Pacific Ocean coastlines. The region has become critical f
or global trade and security\, and is undergoing major strategic realignme
 nts.
\nThis course will examine some of the key factors shaping Indo-Pacif
ic geopolitics and geoeconomics\, in large part by looking at how major pl
ayers including the United States\, India\, China and France are jostling
for position in the increasingly important Third Island Chain that cuts th
rough the heart of Oceania. This region was a front line in World War II\,
and is rapidly heating up again. Understanding what is happening there wi
ll give insight into new alliances and dangerous faultlines that could sha
 pe the global future.
\nResponsable :Cléo Paskal\, chercheuse Trudeau
\nP
