SUMMARY:The hydrogen-deficient side of stellar evolution - Nicole Reindl (U
 niversity of Leicester)
DESCRIPTION:The hydrogen-deficient side of stellar evolution - Nicole Reind
 l (University of Leicester)
Résumé
About one out of five intermediate-ma
ss stars turns hydrogen-deficient in its late stages of stellar evolution.
While the reason for this hydrogen-deficiency is understood for some of t
he stars\, other objects still keep on challenging our understanding of th
e late evolution of sun-like stars. I will present latest discoveries and
review our current understanding of hydrogen-deficient side of stellar evo
lution. In particular\, I will present preliminary results of recent inves
tigations of the so-call hot wind white dwarfs\, which represent probably
the least understood group of white dwarfs.
