\nRésumé: Carbohydrates units play an 
 important role in cell recognition. Therefore\, glycopolymers may be espec
 ially suited for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. We also incor
 porated betulin\, a hydrophobic compound with antitumor activities found i
 n the birch trees\, into the glycopolymers. We have synthesized both rando
 m and block copolymers based on these biomolecules and studied these self-
 assembling properties and the loading and release of model drug molecules.
