 le sera donnée en anglais.Résumé : Society depends on polymeric materi
 als now more than at any other time in history. Although synthetic polyme
 rs are indispensable in a diverse array of applications\, ranging from co
 mmodity packaging and structural materials to technologically complex bio
 medical and electronic devices\, their synthesis and post-use fate pose i
 mportant environmental challenges. The focus of our research is the devel
 opment of routes to polymers with reduced environmental impact. In this w
 ork\, we aim to transition from fossil fuels to renewable resources\, and
  are developing synthetic methods that limit energy and raw-material cons
 umption. In addition\, we are designing materials that will eventually de
 grade into non-toxic materials\, and have properties comparable to curren
 t commodity plastics. In this lecture\, the development of catalytic rout
 es to polyolefins\, polyesters\, polycarbonates\, and polyethers will be
