DESCRIPTION:Tim Reedman\,  Centre for Surgical Invention & Innovation (CSi
 i)\,39 Charlton Ave East\, Hamilton\, ON L8N 1Y3\, CanadaMDA has been deve
 loping robots for unique applications for over thirty years. Our most famo
 us robot\, the Canadarm\, is a Canadian technology icon and we have had a 
 successful history working with NASA and the CSA as part of the manned spa
 ce program. More recently we have been working with leading Canadian medic
 al researchers on applications for robotics in medicine. In this talk\, we
  will provide an overview of our activities in both areas.Tim  Reedman is 
 the Director\, Commercial Systems at MDA Space Missions. Tim  is responsib
 le for leading MDA’s commercial systems product line which  includes med
 ical robotics\, nuclear robotics and automation\, security  systems and ot
 her new applications.Tim  has been with MDA for twenty-seven years\, holdi
 ng a variety of senior  positions in engineering and management. He has ex
 tensive experience in  both space and non-space engineering projects\, and
  has been the  technical authority on many multi-year\, multi-million doll
 ar projects  ranging from elements of the International Space Station to a
 nimatronic  dinosaurs for the entertainment industry. He has led the compa
 ny’s  R&D group and the Operations group\, and recently was responsible 
 for  successfully developing and advancing the company’s medical robotic
 s  portfolio.Tim has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree and a Master of
