SUMMARY:Conférence avec le Professeur Thomas Kislinger (Toronto)
DESCRIPTION:Titre : Membrane Proteomics: Surface Markers & Horizontal Signa
ling.
: In-depth studies of membrane proteins have previously proven to be diffi
cult for reasons including hydrophobicity and low abundance. Recent advanc
es in proteomics technologies make it now possible to investigate this imp
ortant cell compartment to an impressive depth elucidating previously unan
notated membrane proteins. Here\, I will present how plasma membrane prote
omics has lead to the identification of a novel cardiac membrane protein i
nvolved in regulating gap junction communication. In addition\, an improve
d proteomics method for the rapid isolation and quantitative analyses of c
ell culture-derived exosomes and its application to intercellular signalli
ng in the tumor microenvironment\, will be presented.Information suppléme
