 n ChemistryLa conférence (en anglais) sera prononcée par la professeure 
 Francesca Kerton\, du département de chimie de la Memorial University of 
 Newfoundland. Cette dernière sera de passage à Montréal à titre d'exam
 inatrice externe d'une soutenance de thèse en chimie. Résumé : Recent 
 results from the Kerton group will be presented as a journey around the pe
 riodic table taking in both main group (s- and p-block) and transition met
 al (d-block) compounds. We have been using these metal complexes as tools 
 in green chemistry. For example\, the use of Li\, Al and Zn complexes in r
 ing-opening polymerization reactions of epsilon-caprolactone and rac-lacti
 de that yield biodegradable polyesters will be presented. Cobalt complexes
  and their catalytic activity in cycloaddtion reactions of carbon dioxide 
 and propylene oxide will be described. Finally\, the use of copper complex
 es in aerobic oxidation catalysis will be discussed.Information supplémen
