SUMMARY:Remote Reconnaissance of Exosolar Systems
DESCRIPTION:Ben R. Oppenheimer\, American Museum of Natural HistoryRésumé
/abstract:Project 1640 has recently begun surveying nearby\, young stars f
or faint companions.  This novel instrument is the first of a new generat
ion of planet imaging devices.  It is sensitive to objects as faint as 10
^-7 times the central star brightness at less than 1 arc second separation
. Project 1640 provides low-resolution spectroscopy of found companions as
well.  The instrument and recent results will be presented.Ce séminaire
est présenté par le groupe astronomie et astrophysique du Département
de physique de l'Université de Montréal.
