SUMMARY:Higgs Discovery: Implications for Particle Physics
DESCRIPTION:Carlos Wagner\, Physics Department\, University of ChicagoRésu
mé/abstract:The LHC experimental collaborations have recently discovered
a Higgs-like particle with mass 125 GeV. It may be the missing element of
the so-called Standard Model of particle physics\, which describes in an a
ccurate way all measured observables not involving gravity. We shall discu
ss what the possible implications are for particle physics and\, in partic
ular\, for physics at the Energy Frontier in the coming years.
