SUMMARY:Geozones: An area-based method for the analysis of health outcomes
DESCRIPTION:Paul A. Peters\, PhD\, Division de l'analyse de la santé\, Sta
tistique CanadaAdministrative datasets often lack information about indivi
dual characteristics such as Aboriginal identity and income. However\, the
se datasets frequently contain individual-level geographic information (su
ch as postal codes). This presentations explains the methodology for creat
ing Geozones\, which are area-based thresholds of population characteristi
cs derived from census data\, which can be used in the analysis of social
or economic differences in health and health service utilization. With agg
regate 2006 Census information at the Dissemination Area level\, populatio
n concentration and exposure for characteristics of interest are analysed
using threshold tables and concentration curves. Examples are presented fo
r the Aboriginal population and for income gradients.Réservez votre place
