SUMMARY:Geostrories\, conférence publique de El Hadi Jazairy
DESCRIPTION:El Hadi Jazairy est professeur à l'Université du Michigan et 
 cofondateur avec Rania Ghosn de l’agence Design Earth. Ses recherches se
  fondent sur un engagement éthique à l’égard de l’environnement et 
 explorent une esthétique afin de visualiser comment les systèmes urbains
  transforment la Terre. Design Earth a participé à un nombre important d
 ’expositions : pavillon américain à la Biennale de Venise en architec
 ture\, Biennale de Sharjah\, Times Museum de Guangzhou\, Musée d’art\, 
 d’architecture et de technologie de Lisbonne\, Museum of Modern Art de N
 YC. L’agence a reçu d’importants prix internationaux\, dont celui de 
 la Architectural League of New York’s Prize for Young Architects + Desig
 ners\, le premier prix de la Fondation Jacques Rougerie et les Faculty Des
 ign Awards de l’Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. El Ha
 di Jazairy est co-auteur de Geostories: Another Architecture for the Envir
 onment (New York: Actar\, 2018) et de Geographies of Trash (New York: Acta
 r\, 2015). Il est l'éditeur fondateur de New Geographies et le rédacteur
  en chef de NG 4: Scales of the Earth (Harvard GSD\, 2010). Ses récents 
 écrits ont été publiés dans le Journal of Architectural Education\, la
  revue Avery\, Thresholds\, Topos\, Domus\, Abitare\, Pidgin\, ARQ\, Volum
 e\, Harvard Design Magazine\, MONU et San Rocco. El Hadi Jazairy est titul
 aire d'un doctorat en design de l'Université Harvard\, d'une maîtrise en
  architecture de l'Université Cornell et d'un baccalauréat en architectu
 re de La Cambre à Bruxelles.  
\nAbstract:Geostories investigates aesth
 etic forms of environmental engagement and visualizes how urban systems ch
 ange the Earth. Through design research they bring together spatial histor
 y\, geographic representation\, projective design\, and material public as
 semblies to speculate on ways of living with legacy technologies on a dama
 ged planet. This design research method addresses climate change by connec
 ting political ecology and aesthetic experience to prompt debate over the 
 imagination and design of the techno-environment\, be it in drawings\, exh
 ibitions\, or publications. The architectural project becomes a medium to 
 synthesize different forms and scales of knowledge on complex environmenta
 l questions\, such as space debris\, ocean acidification and deep-sea mini
 ng\, soil erosion\, air pollution\, freshwater shortage\, energy transitio
 n\, and a host of other social-ecological issues.
