 e Cross-Coupling Reactions

 815   Hôte: Shawn Collins   Résumé: Transition metal catalyzed cross
 -coupling reactions have revolutionized how molecules are synthesized. Our
  research group is interested in developing new chemoselective coupling pr
 ocesses that complement entrenched Pd-catalyzed methods. This presentation
  will discuss key observations and experimental parameters that allowed fo
 r reaction development\, mechanistic aspects of the processes\, and applic
 ations in bioactive molecule synthesis and functionalization.
\nBiographie
 : Rylan grew up in Winnipeg\, MB and completed his B.Sc. in Chemistry at t
 he University of Manitoba. During his undergraduate studies he worked in t
 he labs of Prof. Mario Bieringer and Prof. Deryn Fogg (Ottawa). Rylan cond
 ucted doctoral research under the guidance of Prof. Mark Stradiotto at Dal
 housie University in Halifax\, NS\, then was an NSERC Postdoctoral researc
 h fellow in lab of Prof. Gregory Fu at the Massachusetts Institute of Tech
 nology and later the California Institute of Technology. In 2013 he began 
 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University
  of Alberta.
