DESCRIPTION:The Community University Partnership Programme has been enablin
 g partnerships between the University of Brighton and its local communitie
 s since 2003.   Based on principles of mutual benefit\, open access for 
 communities and addressing disadvantage it has responded to thousands of c
 ommunity enquiries and seeded hundreds of partnerships projects.  Now via
  funding from the UK Research Councils it is examining how best to sustain
  these partnerships as a platform for public engagement with research.  D
 avid Wolff will talk about the support programme they have developed\, how
  to pursue an enabling culture for the work and plans for the next phase o
 f the project.\nDavid Wolff has been the Director of the Community Univer
 sity Partnership Programme (CUPP) since its inception in 2003\, regularly 
 teaching and researching on the topic. Prior to this David worked in the c
 ommunity and voluntary sector in the fields of homelessness\, advice and i
 nformation services\, project management and in the use of IT. He has occu
 pied roles as a volunteer\, service delivery worker\, manager\, director a
 nd consultant. He is a Commissioner for the Brighton and Hove Fairness Com
 mission and a Fellow of the RSA.\nThe presentation will be followed by am
