DESCRIPTION:Strong spin-orbit coupling in quantum materials provides a nove
 l route to obtain the spin liquid phase\, which is a highly entangled quan
 tum ground state of interacting electron systems and hosts exotic quasipar
 ticles. Recently there have been tremendous efforts  to realize the Kitae
 v spin liquid\, which is an exactly solvable example of the spin liquid st
 ate\, in real materials. After an introduction to topological nature of sp
 in liquid phases\, I will discuss the recent experimental and theoretical 
 works on these systems.
