DESCRIPTION:Titre complet :Targeting personality risk factors in psychother
 apy and the preventure drug and alcohol prevention programme   Training Ov
 erview and ObjectivesPersonality-targeted interventions have proven highly
  effective for addressing concurrent mental health and substance use probl
 ems\, and in school-based drug and alcohol prevention. This two-day works
 hop will provide an overview of the psychobiologic research on four person
 ality risk factors for substance use and mental disorders: anxiety sensiti
 vity\, negative thinking\, impulsivity and sensation seeking.  The traini
 ng will also provide an overview of the instruments used to assess these t
 raits in clinical practice\, and new intervention strategies that target t
 hese traits in therapy. The second day of the workshop will focus on how 
 to deliver cognitive-behavioural and motivational interventions in persona
 lity-specific ways\, and will provide some practical training on how to de
 liver the interventions in the context of school-based prevention\, using 
 the Preventure Programme.
\nThis workshop is only open to professionals wi
 th previous counselling or psychotherapy training.
\nPreventure therapist 
 manuals are included in workshop fees\, client and student manuals can be 
 purchased on site during the training workshop.
