  professeur Francesco Stellacci est annulée ce mercredi 29 février mais 
 sera probablement reportée à une date ultérieure.Cette conférence ser
 a prononcée par le professeur Francesco Stellacci de l'institut des mat
 ériaux et du laboratoire des nanomatériaux supramoléculaires et des int
 erfaces\, tous les deux affiliés à l'École Polytechnique Fédérale de 
 Lausanne (Suisse). Elle est commanditée par le Centre de recherche sur le
 s materiaux auto-assemblés (CRMAA) et sera donnée en anglais.Résumé :
  A bird eye view of any folded protein shows a complex surface composed o
 f hydrophobic and hydrophilic patches closely packed. To date little is kn
 own on the fundamental properties that such packing determines. In this ta
 lk I will present my group’s endeavor into the synthesis\, characterizat
 ion\, and understanding of a family of nanomaterials (mixed monolayer prot
 ected nanoparticles) that posses a surface coexistence of patches of oppos
 ite hydrophilicity resembling that present on folded protein. I will show 
 that these materials are ideal model compound to uncover the basic propert
 ies that such coexistence determines at the solid liquid interface\, and w
 ill conclude with example of application of these nanoparticles when used 
 as mimic of biological entities (e.g. as cell penetrating peptides\, as na
 no-enzymes\, etc.).Information supplémentaire
