 ure will describe our recent\, highly collaborative\, results in the spin 
 crossover (SCO) and Single Molecule Magnet (SMM) fields\, including exampl
 es of pressure-induced SCO\, the first use of SCO for quantitative sensing
 \, and the immobilisation of soluble and robust macrocyclic 3d-4f SMMs on 
 gold with retention of SMM character.
