SUMMARY:Conférence du professeur Didier Bourissou (Paul Sabatier)
DESCRIPTION:Titre : Polyfunctional Ligands and Late Transition Metals: From
Unusual Coordination Modes to Original Reactivity Patterns.La conférence
sera prononcée par le professeur Didier Bourissou du Laboratoire Hété
rochimie Fondamentale et Appliquée de l'Université Paul Sabatier (France
). Elle sera donnée en anglais. Résumé : Over the last few years\, ou
r group has been studying the coordination properties of ambiphilic ligand
 s. Our approach consists in using donor groups\, typically phosphines\, t
o support original metal / ligand interactions. This strategy was first us
ed to investigate the coordination of Lewis acids as sigma-acceptor ligand
s (Z-type ligands). We are now extrapolating this approach to the coordin
ation and activation of inert sigma-bonds. This presentation will sumariz
e our last results in these two projects. Particular attention will be dev
oted to the structure of the isolated complexes that will be discussed on
the basis of spectroscopic\, crystallographic and computational data. Info
