\nIn the last few years\, several groups 
 have prepared members of a new family of macromolecules\, the synthetic tw
 o-dimensional polymers. Our research group has focused on 2D polymers base
 d on antrip monomer (below). In this talk\, we will outline strategies for
  the synthesis of 2D polymers and then discuss open question and opportuni
 ties including:

\ndefect tolerance
\nmacrom
 olecular shape
\npost-polymerization modification of 2DPs
\ntransfer of ma
 cromolecular structural information
\napplications in separations and patt
