SUMMARY:Conférence CCVC avec la Professeure Marisa Kozlowski (UPenn)
DESCRIPTION:Titre : Oxygen-Driven Fragment Coupling by Activation of C-H\,
 N-H\, and O-H Bonds.Endroit : Pavillon Roger-Gaudry\, salle N-615 à 11 h.
 Hôte : Hélène Lebel.
\nLa conférence sera prononcée (en anglais) par
la professeure Marisa Kozlowski du Département de chimie de l'University
of Pennsylvania. Elle est commanditée par le Centre en chimie verte et c
 atalyse (CCVC).
\nRésumé : Inspired by Nature's use of oxidative couplin
gs to construct carbon-carbon\, carbon-oxygen\, and carbon-nitrogen bonds
in many natural products\, we have undertaken studies of these important t
ransformations. The development of selective catalytic processes for napht
 hol coupling\, phenol coupling\, N-arylation\, and alkyl C–H acivation t
hat utilize oxygen as the terminal oxidant will be discussed. Applications
to the synthesis of chiral natural products including nigerone\, hypocrel
lin\, cercosporin\, and bisoranjidiol as well as to the synthesis of novel
optically active materials will be presented.
\nInformation supplémentai
