SUMMARY:Quebec’s Family Medicine Groups: their impacts on access\, qualit
 y\, and costs of health care services
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Erin Strumpf will present key findings from her research ag
 enda examining the impacts of GMFs on primary health care and the Quebec
 ’s health care system as a whole. Since 2009\, Dr. Strumpf and her resea
 rch team have used administrative and survey data\, in combination with qu
 asiexperimental methods\, to evaluate the effects of team-based primary ca
 re on access to and quality of primary care services\, and on health care 
 costs. She will present an overview of results\, discuss methodological st
 rengths and challenges\, and highlight remaining questions and potential a
 venues for future research in this area.

 nErin C. Strumpf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics
  and the Department of Epidemiology\, Biostatistics and Occupational Healt
 h at McGill University and Researcher at IRSPUM. She received her Ph.D. in
  Health Policy from Harvard University and a Research Scholar Junior 1 fro
 m the « Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) » and the « min
 istère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec ». Dr. Strumpf’
 s current research agenda focuses on using quasi-experimental methods to m
 easure the impacts of policies designed to improve health care services de
 livery and health outcomes.
