 At the forefront of new synthetic endeavors\, such as drug discovery and d
 evelopment\, the stakes are high and timelines tight. Leveraging novel tec
 hnologies is an integral part of Merck’s strategy to meet this challenge
 . For the past 10 years\, the catalysis and automation laboratory has been
  expanding the tool kit available to synthetic chemists at Merck via the d
 evelopment of technologies and reactions that enable the application of hi
 gh-value catalytic transformation for the preparation of drug-like molecul
 es. This presentation highlights the innovations that have contributed to 
 the chemistry of Merck products and have been recognized as significant ad
 vances in the field of catalysis and high-throughput experimentation.
