SUMMARY:Searching for Earth 2.0 in the crumbs of planet formation
DESCRIPTION:John Debes\, Space Telescope Science InstituteOne of the centra
 l questions of astronomy over the next two decades will be the frequency a
 nd chemical makeup of terrestrial planets near the habitable zones of near
 by stars.  I will present some of my work to jump start these answers ove
 r the next few years in novel ways\, primarily through the leveraging of w
 hite dwarfs as probes of both the chemical makeup of planets and as potent
 ial sites for habitable planets.  I will also discuss how current and fut
 ure NASA missions\, from HST to TESS\, will play a key role in this work.P
