SUMMARY:Séminaire de l'étudiant Éric Christophe-Habib (Groupe Zhu)
DESCRIPTION:Titre : Novel Biocompatible Dental Resin Composite Monomers Bas
 ed on Bile Acids.Endroit : Pavillon Roger-Gaudry\, salle G-1015 11 h.Cette
conférence sera prononcée (en anglais) par Monsieur Éric Christophe-Ha
bib\, étudiant au doctorat\, du laboratoire de Julian Zhu\, professeur a
 u Département de chimie de l'Université de Montréal.Résumé : Dental r
esin composites have seen increasing use in recent years due to their ease
of use and advantageous aesthetic properties when compared to the mercury
containing dental amalgams.  The principal monomer used in current denta
l resin composites called bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate (BisGMA)
is made from bisphenol A\, and exhibits toxicity at moderate concentration
s\, as well as an unfavourable volumetric shrinkage.  This research work
aims to replace these monomers with new biomaterials based on bile acids w
ith superior mechanical and toxicological properties.  In addition\, many
fillers are being synthesized and tested in order to optimize the composi
te formulations to understand the effect of different parameters on the fi
nal material properties. Information supplémentaireAnnonce PDF du sémina
