 . Résumé : This lecture will detail ongoing efforts in my lab directed 
 towards the development of new methods and strategies for the total synthe
 sis of polycyclic natural products. Three different case studies will be p
 resented that explore a methods focused synthesis of tetralone lignans\, a
  strategy focused synthesis of diterpenes\, and the biomimetic synthesis o
