SUMMARY:130 GeV Dark Matter and the LHC - James Cline
DESCRIPTION:James Cline\, McGill UniversityRésumé/abstract:A number of gr
oups have found tentative evidence for 130 GeV dark matter annihilating in
to gamma rays at the galactic center\, by studying publicly available Ferm
i/LAT data.  I will discuss two theoretical models which could account fo
r the observations\, one where scalar dark matter couples to new charged s
calars\, and another where fermionic dark matter has a large magnetic mome
nt due to compositeness.  Both models predict distinctive signatures at t
he LHC\, including like-sign lepton pairs and four-photon events\, that wo
uld allow for the discovery of the new charged particles needed for mediat
ing the dark matter interaction with photons.Cette conférence est présen
tée par le Groupe de Physique des Particules du Département de physique
  de l'Université de Montréal.
