SUMMARY:Search for neutrinoless double beta decay with EXO-200 and Ba ion t
 agging R&D - Razvan Gornea
DESCRIPTION:Razvan Gornea\, Albert Einstein Institute\, Laboratory for High
  Energy Physics\, Université de Bern\, SuisseRésumé/abstract:The Enrich
ed Xenon Observatory (EXO) collaboration searches for the neutrino-less do
uble beta decay in Xe-136. The first phase of the experiment\, EXO-200\, h
as started taking data in 2011 and already produced important physics resu
lts like the first observation of the allowed two-neutrino double beta dec
ay in Xe-136. The EXO-200 detector will be described in details with empha
sis on the effort for low-background material selection. Then the most rec
ent data analysis campaign which provided a strong limit for the neutrino-
less double beta decay will be presented. Finally\, the advantages of the
Ba ion tagging technique for the next-generation ton-scale detector for ne
utrino-less double beta decay search will be introduced along with a revie
w of current R&D efforts.Cette conférence est présentée par le Groupe d
e Physique des Particules du Département de physique de l'Université de
  Montréal.
