SUMMARY:Conférence du Professeur Shannon Stahl (UW Madison)
DESCRIPTION:Titre :  Palladium and Copper Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidation Reac
tions.La conférence sera prononcée par le professeur Shannon Stahl du D
épartement de chimie de l'University of Wisconsin-Madison. Elle sera donn
ée en anglais. Résumé : Molecular oxygen is the quintessential oxidant
. While O2 is the oxidant of choice for production of commodity chemicals\
, it is seldom used in the synthesis of fine chemicals\, agrochemicals or
pharmaceuticals. Over the past decade\, research in my laboratory has focu
sed on understanding and exploiting fundamental chemical principles that c
ould enable widespread use of O2 in chemical synthesis. This talk will beg
in with an overview of catalytic aerobic oxidation reactions\, highlightin
g some of the key fundamental and practical challenges facing this field.
This overview will be followed by a discussion of palladium- and copper-ca
talyzed reactions that we have developed and investigated in recent years\
, including new C–H oxidation reactions and highly practical and chemose
lective methods for aerobic alcohol oxidation. Information supplémentaire
