Spring for All at the Jardin botanique Espace pour la vie is offering, in cooperation with external organizations, four weekends of free activities at the Jardin botanique’s Frédéric Back Tree Pavilion, an inviting, dynamic and lively space for meetings and exchanges. In April, reconnect with nature and take the opportunity to explore, create or exchange with others, while gearing up to take concrete action towards the socio-ecological transition and the protection of biodiversity. April 6 - The House of Possibilities,Solon in residency at the Tree Pavilion! Solon, a Montréal-based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering citizens, is behind two Possibility Spaces in Montréal: one in Ahuntsic, the other in La Petite-Patrie. These third places dedicated to exchange, learning and citizen involvement aim to develop neighbourhoods that are more inclusive and eco-fiendly. Citizens are encouraged to propose activities and meetings, and to organize and help each other to make the world a better place. All under self-management! Since 1996, the Tree Pavilion at Frédéric-Back has been raising public awareness of the role of trees in living ecosystems and in our lives. On this special day, it’s the social ecosystem that will be highlighted, as it’s through this ecosystem that we can ensure the well-being of our communities and the living beings that surround us. On the agenda 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Humans of Ahuntsic Photo exhibition by Solon in collaboration with Jacques Lebleu. Discover the socio-ecological transition initiatives and contributions to local life of residents of the Ahuntsic district. Want to know more about Solon’s activities? Drop by their booth and meet the team! 10 a.m. till noon | Creative Hive Activity by the creative committee of L'Espace des Possibles Ahuntsic Young and old alike will be invited to draw inspiration from and create around the themes of trees and nature. Come and discuss these self-managed community spaces, where anyone can propose activities and meet their neighbours to exchange, learn and share know-how! In French. Mohamad Tarifi from the Ahuntsic Possibility Space will show you a host of planting and indoor seedling techniques to get ready for fall and winter! In French.
