Celebrate the winged heroes of nature
at the Pollinator Insects Festival!

The Insectarium’s passionate team has put together a color-drenched event designed to help you discover these fascinating little creatures. Three days of free activities for the entire family are waiting for you near the Insectarium.

On the program:

  • creative workshops to ignite the imagination;
  • inspiring get-togethers with impassioned scientists;
  • captivating shows for the whole family;
  • and plenty of other surprises!

You’re bound to fall under the spell of these essential allies of biodiversity.

Program for the three days

Shows and Guided Activities

10:15 and 11:15 am
Émeraude et le monarque

Puppet show; duration: 30 minutess.

A young girl makes the acquaintance of a monarch butterfly, which will dazzle her eyes and melt her heart.

12:30 and 3 pm
Pollinators in the Garden

Guided activity; duration: 20 minutes.

The pollinator elite are waiting for you! Sweat bees, bumblebees, flies, butterflies – essential insects that bring color to our gardens and bolster biodiversity.

1:30 and 2:15 pm
Le grand Bill... in Music!

A musical tale with OSM; duration: 30 minutes.

Bill’s a tiny explorer in search of his true nature! Between flowers, bumblebees and aerial rodeos, follow along with his touching and funny adventures.

3:30 pm
Relay Pollinators

Guided game; duration: 20 minutes.

Become a pollinator insect that has to transport its precious pollen from flower to flower as efficiently as possible!

Garden Hat

Do-it-yourself workshop

Create a unique garden hat where insects and flowers live in harmony.

Strawberries and chocolate: thank you, pollinators

Cooking workshop

Two delicious ingredients that we have thanks to pollinators. Celebrate them by preparing a gourmet recipe with your family.

Buzzing Collector

Do-it-yourself workshop

Using recycled, colorful, translucent materials, assemble your own pollinator-inspired frame.

3:30 to 4:30 pm
Springtime for the Bumblebee Queen

Do-it-yourself workshop

Cut, paste and create a unique work in celebration of a truly majestic queen!

Plunge into the fascinating world of pollinators. Discover the essential role they play in nature, and leave with the motivation to take concrete action on their behalf.

Love monarchs? Contribute to their preservation by discovering how to get involved in this community-science project!

The Insectarium’s horticultural team knows better than anyone what pollinators’ favorite plants are – come out and meet them!

Polliflora

How well do you really know the honeybee? The specialists from Polliflora invite you to take stock of its role and its impact in nature.

Pollinators and Scientists: A Winning Duo!

What does science reveal about pollinator insects? Our researchers will share their fascinating discoveries with you about these invaluable allies of nature.

Insect Makeup

Dress up in pollinators’ most beautiful colors or in those of their favorite flowers.

Le grand voyage

Duration: 30 minutes.

A monarch caterpillar dreams of becoming a magnificent butterfly and taking off on a great journey southward. A magical adventure to be discovered with the family.

11 am
Tending My Garden

Duration: 1 hour.

With the Insectarium’s horticulture team, sink your hands into the earth and help maintain a garden for pollinators.

11:45 am and 2 pm
Meet the Challenge

Duration: 20 minutes.

Photograph pollinators and contribute to their protection by way of the community-science project Biodiversity Challenge!

12:15 pm
Monarch Migration

Duration: 20 minutes.

Children are invited to don a butterfly costume and twirl around with the other little monarchs in a joy-filled colorful migration.

4:30 pm
Little Pollinators Parade

Duration: 20 minutes.

Children are invited to dress up as pollinators and be part of a totally bizz-buzzing parade!
