« ИСЧЕЗНОВЕНИЕ » Fred Laforge s’est beaucoup intéressé aux notions de norme liées à l’image du corps. Avec ce projet, il déplace cette réflexion vers la norme du corps en soi, c’est-à-dire le corps en tant que matériau. Ses dessins et sculptures pixélisés déconstruisent le corps afin de mettre en perspective sa matérialité. Son travail suggère également l’évanescence et l’éventuelle disparition du corps. Aussi, un dialogue avec l’histoire de l’art s’enclenche lorsque l’image figurative se transforme en abstraction.

Fred Laforge ’s work has been turned to the notions of standards linked to the body image. With this project, he moves this perception towards the body standard in itself, i.e. the body as material. Through pixelated drawing and sculptures, the body is deconstructed in order to put its materiality in perspective. His work also suggests the evanescence and eventual disappearance of the body. Moreover, a dialogue with art history is started when the figurative image is changing itself into abstraction.
