 rally complex and useful compounds\, from antibiotics to nanomaterials. In
 spired by these cyclic architectures\, we are developing catalytic methods
  that feature the enantioselective functionalization of carbon-hydrogen bo
 nds. Our goal is to develop green and efficient strategies for constructin
 g heterocycles and other biologically relevant motifs. This lecture will d
 iscuss the design\, scope\, and mechanism of novel hydroacylation methods.
