MICRO- AND NANO-STRUCTURE FABRICATION IN PRECISION POLYMER MOULDING
Recently, forming a nano-scale polymer material structure to add new functionality to materials has attracted attention. Reportedly, a nanostructure can be added to a polymer surface by filling molten polymer into a substrate with a nano-porous structure fabricated using the anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) method. However, it is difficult to fabricate nanostructure with high aspect ratio (length/diameter ratio) by thermal nano-imprinting and injection molding process. To clarify the nano-rod fabrication mechanism, the behavior of that filling into AAO template of molten polymer was investigated in this study using injection molding and thermal imprinting processes.
